A TALL JAPANESE SATSUMA VASE
MEIJI PERIOD, 19TH CENTURY
The baluster body decorated with two large panels, one depicting beauties with children in a luxuriant garden, with branches of prunus blossoming above them; the other with five armour-clad warriors by a lake, Mount Fuji visible in the distance, on a navy-blue ground embellished with flowerheads and brocade patterns in gilt, signed, 31.5cm.
