A JAPANESE KOMAI-STYLE INLAID IRON TETSUBIN
MEIJI PERIOD, 19TH CENTURY
The kettle with a bulbous body decorated in gold and silver inlays and with a curved spout, one side decorated with a circular panel enclosing a depiction of the torii gate at Itsukushima Shrine, a square panel next to it with many trees and fishing boats; the reverse with birds flying over a mountainous river landscape, the handle with further birds and sailboats; the lid with a bud-shaped knop and signed Ryubundo zo, 21.5cm, (2)
