A CHINESE CINNABAR LACQUER CIRCULAR 'SCHOLARS' BOX AND COVER
QING DYNASTY
Lacquered on metal, carved with scholars and their attendants in a rocky landscape, two figures walk beneath wutong branches whilst the other three stand under a pine tree, the scenes reserved on finely incised geometric grounds, with black lacquer to the interior, 8.5cm, 252g. (2)
