λ TWO CHINESE CANTON TORTOISESHELL BOXES AND COVERS
19TH CENTURY
One box and cover of circular form, the other rectangular with a hinged lid, each carved in relief with scenes of figures and pavilions in gardens rich with plantain, willows, pine and wutong trees, 9.5cm and 8.2cm. (3)
Provenance: from an English private collection, West Yorkshire, formed in the 1970s and 1980s.
