A CHINESE ENAMELLED WATERPOT AND TWO CIRCULAR BOXES AND COVERS
18TH CENTURY AND LATER
The waterpot painted in iron-red and black enamels with five bats in flight amongst wispy clouds, with a four character mark to the base reading Jingshan pian yu, the larger box and cover painted in blue and white with figures seated beneath willow trees, the smaller box and cover unglazed, decorated in black with a dragon in pursuit of a flaming pearl above a tempestuous sea, with a six character Kangxi mark to the base, 10cm max. (5)
Provenance: from an English private collection, West Yorkshire, formed in the 1970s and 1980s.
