A CHINESE 'SWATOW' BLUE AND WHITE CIRCULAR BOX AND COVER
MING DYNASTY
The domed cover painted with a medallion containing a seated qilin, the roundel surrounded by cartouches enclosing fruits and flowers, with two stylised lotus sprays to the box, the interior with a paper label for lot 70, 29/10/73, the base inscribed '56069', 12.6cm dia. (2)
Provenance: from a private collection, UK and USA, purchased from Christie's London on 29th October 1973, lot 70. A copy of the invoice is available.
