A CHINESE FAMILLE ROSE 'PEONY' JARDINIERE
FOUR CHARACTER HONGXIAN MARK AND PROBABLY OF THE PERIOD
The deep U-shaped body painted to one side with large peony blooms growing from leafy branches amidst rockwork and smaller flowers, the design contained between floral-decorated dark pink bands, the flat everted rim moulded as petals and decorated with further flowers, all raised on a short straight foot, the base with the four character mark in iron-red, 25.2cm dia.
Provenance: from a UK private collection, acquired in the 1970s.
