A CHINESE EXPORT LACQUER WORK TABLE
EARLY 19TH CENTURY
gilt decorated on a black ground with figures in various pursuits, with buildings and pagodas in a water landscape, with bands of scaly dragons, the hinged lid centred with an initial 'M', revealing a fitted interior with lidded compartments and divisions, above a silk bag, on turned supports and shell and lion's paw feet
