A PAINTED CHIMING LONGCASE CLOCK

the brass eight day three train movement with four turned pillars, the anchor escapement striking on eight bells and a gong (fixed to case), the twelve inch brass arched dial with a silvered chapter ring with Roman and Arabic numerals, the centre engraved with two boys on a see-saw, with a subsidiary seconds dial, with adjuster for 4/7 bells, with gilt mask spandrels, the arch with chime/silent dial and signed 'Thos Turner London', the case painted in the manner of Angelica Kauffmann with figures, cherubs, urns, flowers and scrolling foliage, the hood with two brass finials
