A silver regimental Commanding Officer's card holder, 2nd Battalion The East Surrey Regiment,
by The Goldsmiths and Silversmiths Company, London 1936,
arched rectangular form, engraved with the regimental badge, easel back, length 15.3xm.
Provenance: a Private Collection of Regimental Silver.
On the 1 July 1881, the 31st Regiment of Foot and the 70th Regiment of Foot combined and redesignated the East Surrey Regiment. The commanding Officer at Colchester in April 1939 was Lt Col. George Swinton, M.C..
