An interesting pottery lion paperweight possibly Pilkington's, from the original design by Alfred Stevens for the British Museum bronze lions, covered in a green glaze on a square section base unsigned 11cm. high Literature Judy Rudoe Decorative Arts 1850-1950 British Museum, page 25 catalogue number 30 for a 2ft high lion designed by William Burton, based on Steven's lion, made by Pilkington's in 1899-1900.
