Description
An early 19th century gold-mounted, hardstone and micro mosaic vinaigrette,
unmarked, circa 1820,
oval form, the sides and cover with chased foliate decoration, on a matted background, the hinged cover set with an oval micro mosaic of a Spaniel dog, within a blue border, amethyst case, the interior with a pierced and engraved foliate scroll silver-gilt grille, length 5.2cm.
Provenance: purchased from Christie's, 11 July 1990.
