Description

An Edwardian commemorative silver mounted leather desk blotter,
by Charles Douglas Richard Hanbury-Tracy, Baron Sudeley, London 1901,
rectangular form, engraved with foliate scroll decoration, mounted with applied squares with portraits of King Edward VII, Queen Alexandra, 'August 9th', '1902', the Royal crest, the Union Jack, as well as symbols emblematic of the Commonwealth, with four applied citrine cabochons, the centre applied with a Baron's crest above 'S', for Baron Sudeley, length 30.3cm.
Provenance: purchased from Christie's South Kensington, 16 June 2004, lot 448.
