A Reinhold Hanke stoneware vase designed by Henry Van de Velde for Hohr-Grenzhausen, model no.2055, ovoid with triangular flaring neck and scrolled handles, modelled in low relief with a frieze of seagulls above waves, glazed blue on mottled grey impressed artist cypher 21cm. high Literature Judy Rudoe Decorative Arts 1850-1950, page 321 catalogue number 431, for a comparable example, the same shape with different glaze finish The Pursuit of Style - John Jesse Sotheby's Bond Street 22nd February 2006 lot 68 for a comparable vase
