worked in cross stitch on a linen ground, with text describing descriptions and explanations of natural phenomena found in the 'English Spelling-Book' edited by William Mavor, Vicar of Hurley in Berkshire, signed and dated 'Ruth Grave 1810', in a later glazed gilt and ebonised frame
