worked with coloured silks on a linen ground with cross stitch with polychrome alphabets and numerals, with a strawberry border, with baskets of flowers flanking a virtuous verse, a pair of dovecotes and birds, trees and lions signed 'Mary Burgess Aged 12 Years', in a later glazed wood frame
