A LARGE GEORGE IV NEEDLEWORK ADAM AND EVE SAMPLER
BY ANN AINSWORTH
worked with polychrome silks on a linen ground in satin, split, stem and cross stitch, depicting Adam and Eve casually relaxing under the Tree of Knowledge full of apples, with a serpent dangling over Adam's head, signed and dated 'Ann Ainsworth's Work Aged 10. 1820', in a glazed bird's eye maple frame
