λ A RARE JAPANESE KO-IMARI CHA-IRE (TEA CADDY)
EDO PERIOD, PROBABLY 17TH CENTURY
The squat gourd-shaped body decorated all over with underglaze blue splashes, the cream-coloured silhouettes of two fish swimming amongst them, together with an ivory lid decorated with gold leaf underneath, a silk purse and a tomobako wood box and cover, 6cm. (5)
