A JAPANESE UMIMATSU (SEA-PINE) NETSUKE OF A FROG
EDO PERIOD, 18TH CENTURY
The large amphibian clambering upon a rocky outcrop, its bulging eyes inlaid in light and dark horn, the umimatsu of variegated colours, unsigned, 3.5cm.
Provenance: an American private collection, purchased 1990s-2010s.
