A JAPANESE WOOD NETSUKE OF MONKEYS
MEIJI PERIOD, 19TH CENTURY
Carved as an adult and its young, the larger primate delousing the other whilst the infant eats a fruit, their eyes inlaid with small black beads, the base signed Tomokazu in an oval reserve, 3.6cm.
Provenance: an American private collection, purchased 1990s-2010s.
