A LARGE CHINESE FAMILLE ROSE RUBY-GROUND 'FOUR SEASONS' MEDALLION BOWL

QING DYNASTY/REPUBLIC PERIOD

Painted with four roundels containing prunus, chrysanthemum, lotus, and peony, the interior turquoise, the base with a six character Qianlong seal mark, with a paper label for Bluett, London, a copy of the 1973 invoice is available, 19.6cm.

Provenance: the Sir Harry and Lady Garner collection, and later from an English private collection, London, purchased from Bluett and Sons Ltd., 21st May 1973 for £45.

Exhibited: The Oriental Ceramic Society, Exhibition of Enamelled Polychrome Porcelain of the Manchu Dynasty 1644-1912, 1951, no.200, where it is catalogued as seal mark of Ch'ien Lung and period.
