A CHINESE DING WHITE GLAZED BOWL AND A CIZHOU WHITE GLAZED JAR

SONG DYNASTY

The bowl carved to the interior with a stylised flowering branch, decorated all over with a crackled cream glaze. the slightly flared rim left unglazed, raised on a short circular foot, the jar with a lobed body rising to a waisted neck, coated in an opaque white glaze which stops short of the foot, each with a paper label for the South Africa National Gallery Chinese Exhibition 1953, the bowl no.97, the jar no.66, 18.7cm and 12.5cm. (2)
