Description

A GOOD CHINESE BLANC DE CHINE LEAF-SHAPED DISH, BITIAN

17TH/EARLY 18TH CENTURY

With sharp points to the leaf edge, finely incised to the interior with veins, the underside moulded as furling leaves and a twisting floral stem forming the feet, together with an openwork wood stand, 15.5cm. (2)

Provenance: from the collection of Mr Charles Sydney Cheston, painter, d.1960, and thence by descent. Recorded in Charles Cheston's 1946 catalogue as purchased from Bluett for £7.
