A scarce Victorian Queen's Messenger's Badge, oval, with gilt and poly-chrome painted central plaque displaying the royal arms and cypher within a wreath and enclosed by a crystal cover; encircling garter with roped edges surmounted by a crown and with pendent running greyhound; the whole suspended from a broad blue ribbon with horizontal brooch pin; badge approximately 3 in. high (excluding greyhound) and 1.6 in. wide, no visible hallmarks; very fine or better, may sometime have had enameling to the crown and the garter.
