brass mounted, the hinged lid with a plaque, inscribed 'H. W. Eason R.N. Presented by Signal Staff, H.M.S. Centurion', the part camphorwood and possibly huanghuali lined interior with compartments and divisions for pen and ink, with two inkwells and an ebony ruler, with three secret drawers and a baize lined writing surface, with side sunken handles
