Description

A George III silver snuffer tray and associated scissor snuffers,

by William Cafe, London 1764, the snuffers by IB, London 1763,

shaped oblong form, scroll and gadroon border, leaf capped scroll handle, the centre with an armorial within foliate scroll mantling, on four claw and ball feet, the scissors with ring handles, and engraved with a crest, length 19cm, approx. weight 7.5oz. (2)

The crest is that of Livesey impaling Livesey: Probably Thomas Livesey who married Elizabeth Livesey at the Church of St. Mary St. Denys and St. George in Manchester on 6th May 1766.
