A Victorian silver mounted travelling dressing table set,
the mounts by Frances Douglas, London 1853, manufactured by Bayley, 17 Cockspur Street, London
with engraved foliate scroll decoration, with a central initialled cartouche, comprising: three scent bottles, four jars, and four boxes, an inkwell and vesta holder, and a small scent bottle, with a pull-out tray with a medicine spoon, by George Adams, and various silver, steel and mother-of-pearl implements, including: a ruler, a letter knife, a seal, two corkscrews, a dip pen, a pencil and other items, the interior of the hinged cover with a mirror and stationary wallet, the front with a pull-out velvet lined jewellery drawer, in a fitted brass bound two handled, coromandel wooden case, the top with a monogram, length 31.4cm, approx. weight 8.5oz.
