Description

A Regency rosewood and brass mounted tripod table, with inlaid stringing the octagonal tilt top with calamander cross banding and a pierced gallery, on a tapering stem with brass concave corners with leaf decoration to a circular platform and hipped scroll legs to brass paw sabots and castors, 28.5in (72.5cm) h, 27in (68.5cm) w. A similar table with a plain brass border, formerly in the Ionides collection and sold by a descendent, Philips, London, 13 June 1995, Lot 114, 5,200.
