A FRENCH GILT BRASS AND LIMOGES ENAMEL MANTEL CLOCK
C.1870-80
the brass eight day movement striking on a gong, the backplate stamped with an anchor and numbered '297', the enamel dial painted with musical trophies and an 18th century amorous couple, with Roman numerals, in an architectural case with turned finials, the back door with an applied plaque, inscribed 'From the Officers Mess, 20th Decr 1888'
