the octagonal tilt-top inlaid with cube parquetry, the centre with a garter, inscribed 'H. M. S. Thetis' and a central parquerty star, on a turned stem and scroll supports

Catalogue Note

An H. M. S. Thetis was a forty-six gun frigate of thousand and eighty-six tons, built in Pembroke in 1817. She was wrecked on the coast of Brazil on the 5th December 1830.
