A Victorian Irish Regimental silver Fiddle pattern marrow scoop, Royal Queen's County Rifles Militia,
by John Smythe, Dublin 155, retailed by Waterhouse,
the reverse of the bowl with the Regimental badge, length 23cm, approx. weight 2oz.
22.9cm, approx. weight 1.2oz.
Raised in 1793 at Montrath as Queen's County Rifles militia. Re-designated in 1854 as the Royal Queen's County Rifles Militia. In 1881 The regiment became the 4th Bn The Prince of Wales Leinster Regiment. It was disbanded in 1922.
