An Edwardian 9 carat gold toothpick box,
by William Hornby, London 1902, retailed by Percy Edwards, Piccadilly,
plain rectangular form, the hinged cover mounted with an Essex crystal of a dog and inscribed 'A Faithful Friend is hard to Find, Xmas 1919', the interior with a secret slide out panel which reveals a small photograph frame, length 7cm, approx. weight 44g.
