A CHINESE ARCHAISTIC BRONZE TRIPOD WINE VESSEL, JIA

SHANG DYNASTY OR LATER

Raised on three blade-form feet, the body decorated with bands of roundels and mythical beast masks, set with a strap handle and a pair of posts surmounted by large circular caps rising from the rim, with extensive malachite encrustation, 1.57kg, 26cm.

Provenance: by repute, formerly in the collection of Dr. Roy Jenzen, a former member of the society of Antiques Dealers of Macau and Hong Kong, Valuer in the Attorney General's department, W A David Gonzales collections, Western Australia.
