A CHINESE WUCAI 'FIGURAL' VASE AND COVER
TRANSITIONAL C.1650
The ovoid body painted with a scene depicting a dignitary and an official accompanied by attendants on a garden terrace, framed by pine shrubs and rocks, below a cracked-ice border and floral sprays to the neck, the domed cover similarly decorated with three boys at play, 38cm overall. (2)
Provenance: from a British private collection, formed 1970-2003.
