A SMALL COLLECTION OF PORCELAIN PIECES
17TH AND 18TH CENTURY
Comprising: three Chinese Imari saucers and a tea cup, decorated in underglaze blue, gilt, and red with flowers, figures and pagodas; together with a Japanese saucer painted in gilt, red, green, purple, and black enamels with figures in an interior and further bands of flowers and scrolling tendrils, the underside left undecorated, 12.8cm max. (5)

Cf. The Kyushu Ceramic Museum, Complete Catalogue of Shibata Collection, no.2793, for another Japanese saucer closely related to the one in this lot, which the authors dated to c.1700-30.
