A JAPANESE INLAID BRONZE VASE
MEIJI OR TAISHO, 20TH CENTURY
Of bulbous shape with a short everted rim, decorated with three cranes in flight before a mountain, possibly Mount Fuji, inlaid in mixed metals on the dark bronze ground, signed to the side and inscribed with a dedication mentioning Tokyo Denki (Tokyo Electric Industry Association), together with a wood stand, 30cm. (2)
Provenance: an English private collection, Somerset, purchased in Japan.
