An OBE group to Major Basil Henry Archer, Yorkshire Regiment and 2nd/18th London Regiment (London Irish Rifles): The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire: Officer's Breast Badge (Military), 1st type, silver gilt, very fine; Queen's South Africa Medal, 2nd type, 3 clasps: Cape Colony, Orange Free State, South Africa 1902 (2/Lieut: B.H. ARCHER, York: Rgt:), engraved, some edge bruising, otherwise very fine; British War Medal 1914-20 (MAJOR B.H. ARCHER.), fissure in edge through naming, otherwise very fine; Victory Medal, Mention in Despatches emblem to ribbon (MAJOR B H. ARCHER.), near very fine; mounted for wearing. [4]

OBE: London Gazette 12/12/1919 for "services rendered in connection with military operations in Egypt and Palestine". Served in this period as an Assistant Provost Marshal. Twice Mentioned in Despatches for distinguished services with the British Salonika Force (L.G. 21/07/1917) and the Egyptian Expeditionary Force (L.G. 12/01/1920). Deputy Assistance Director of Railway Traffic E.E.F. from 29/06/1921. Relinquished his commission owing to ill heath in 1922. Offered with copy research
