AN ITALIAN ROSSO ANTICO GRAND TOUR MARBLE INKWELL
AFTER THE ANTIQUE, MID-19TH CENTURY
in the form of a Roman bath, with lionhead masks to each side and on lion paw feet, the wells with foliate carved domed covers (possibly later), on a verde antico marble base
23.5cm high, 19.5cm wide, 9cm deep

The Roman original from the Baths of Caracalla is now a fountain in the Piazza Farnese in Rome.
