Description

By Norman Reginald George Poynton, an Arts and Crafts silver rose bowl,

London 1954,

plain circular form, spot-hammered decoration, on a raised circular foot with a stylised border, with a plated mesh grille, diameter 25cm, approx. weight 31oz.

Norman Poynton registered his mark in 1936, giving his address as The Leicester College of Art. He made a number of civic items for the City of Leicester, designed by himself and Kenneth Holmes, Principal of the College.
