Description

A James II silver Trefid spoon,

by Edward Hulse, London 1685,

the reverse of the oval bowl with a beaded raised rat-tail, the reverse of the terminal scratch initialled 'E.S' over M.B' over a crest, length 19.6cm, approx. weight 1.57oz.

The crest is that of Lethbridge Baronets of Westaway House (Devon) and Winkley Court (Somerset). This title was created in 1804 and the family also held Sandhill Park in Somerset from 1767.
