Description

A gold, enamel and diamond tenth anniversary locket, Russia, circa 1900, the locket of Rococo inspiration, the asymmetrical gold scroll frame enclosing a green guilloché enamel panel centring on the Roman numeral X set with circular-cut diamonds, opening to reveal a plain interior, the reverse with an inscription and the incised numbers 8919/99 and Roman numeral IV, to a gold rope twist chain necklace threaded with pearls, pendant length 4cm including bail, Russian assay mark for 14ct gold, Cyrillic maker's mark for Uliansky Velkovich, assayer's mark for Jakov Ljapunov, inventory number 1(7) 2114, chain length 50cm, Russian marks, later bolt ring stamped 750, pearls untested,
Accompanied by a letter providing a detailed examination of the pendant, stating that the quality of its workmanship and the proximity of Velkovich's workshops to those of Fabergé indicate that this pendant was possibly made in collaboration with Fabergé
