79 assorted gold beads threaded on gold wire
mostly numbered on labels with dimensions and weights, approx 30cm long approx 31g total (including hand written tags) the three larger beads test as 22-23ct gold. the beads are believed to have been discovered at Fort Victoria ruins, Zimbabwe, 1896-1904 and sold by the local Ancient Monuments Committee, as from the great Zimbabwe period, specifically later iron age.
Correspondence follows with further provenance explaining how the beads were exported legally from 'rhodesia' to RSA in 1975
Further correspondence from the national museums and monuments of Rhodesia and dated 28th April 1978 states that ' the 78 gold beads are of a type associated with other similar items from the Zimbabwe ruins and as such are authentic relics of the gold work of this period.' With additional correspondence referring to the authenticity of the gold beads and suggested many fracture.
