A CHINESE CAST IRON HEAD OF A LUOHAN
MING DYNASTY
The face with a serene expression, with downcast eyes, accentuated pupils and eyelids, framed by his pendulous earlobes, all attached to a wood base, 5.2kg overall, the head 18.5cm, 39cm overall.
Provenance: purchased from General Ethnografica and Art Trade Aalderink B V, Amsterdam, on 19th January 1978, a copy of the original invoice is available.
