A CHINESE FAMILLE ROSE SEMI-EGGSHELL 'PHEASANTS' SAUCER DISH

YONGZHENG 1723-35

Painted with a central medallion with a pair of pheasants perched on rocks amidst peonies, day lilies and chrysanthemums, encircled by a band of fruiting spray cartouches reserved on a dense ground of scrolling foliage, the base with a collection label for Mr Alfred Clark and Mrs Ivy Clark, no.383, 19.6cm.

Provenance: formerly the collection of Mrs Alfred Clark, then purchased from Sotheby's London, 25th March 1975, lot 132.
