Description

A CHINESE UNDERGLAZE BLUE AND COPPER-RED BRUSHPOT, BITONG
KANGXI 1662-1722
Freely painted with two large panels, one containing a flowering prunus branch, the other with orchids growing from rocks, on a powder-blue ground, the base with a ribbon tied lozenge mark in a recessed glazed circle, 19cm across.
Provenance: from the collection of Nicolas de la Mare Thompson (1928-2010).
