A PAIR OF CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE SAUCERS AND AN IRON-RED DECORATED BOWL

LATE QING DYNASTY/REPUBLIC PERIOD

The dishes painted with peonies amidst leafy scrolls, each with a mark reading Yu qing tang zhi, the bowl decorated with dragon roundels between bands of blue enamelled key frets and crashing waves, with a Guangxu mark to the base, 13.8cm and 10.8cm. (3)

Provenance: an English private collection, Bristol, the pair of dishes purchased from Jonathan Robinson, London, 25th August 1993; the bowl purchased in Kowloon, 1986, copies of the invoices are available.
