A JAPANESE BRONZE OKIMONO OF DARUMA
MEIJI ERA, 19TH CENTURY
The Father of Zen Buddhism is depicted standing, wearing long flowing robes opening to reveal his bare chest, raised on a scroll-shaped stand, 31cm.
Provenance: a private American collection, purchased from Sotheby's, London, Japanese Works of Art, 13th November 1986, lot 1129. A copy of the original invoice is available.
