Description
A Delft 'Orangist' portrait plate, c.1790, painted in polychrome enamels with a portrait of Prince William V within a yellow scroll border, flanked by sprays of fruiting orange branches, inscribed 'Siet wat hier vam Agtren Staat' (See what is written on the reverse), the underside inscribed in manganese with 'Bit voor u Vorst wenst hem Geem kwaat' (Pray for your prince, do not wish him any harm), 22.7cm.
