Description

A large French Palissy-style majolica trompe l'oeil dish, c.1880, the oval form modelled in high relief with a large central fish and two smaller beside a frog, a snail, small shells and leaves, all on a rough textured green glazed ground, incised signature 'R Falder' (a pseudonym for Alfred Renoleau), 38.5cm.
