A fine gem-set Regimental brooch, late 1930s, for the Royal Engineers, enclosing the cipher of King George VI (r.1936-1952), within a garter bearing the motto 'HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE', intricately set with calibré-cut sapphires, emeralds and rubies and single-cut diamonds, a cabochon ruby forming the velvet cap of the crown, measuring 3.6 x 3.0cm
